Jinan Qingqi Motorcycle Company Limited was originally formed by the approval of Shandong System Reform Committee in 1993 a combination of the First Assembly Sub-factory, the Second final Assembly Sub-factory and the Engine Factory which belonged to the Qingqi Group Co.,Ltd.

The company listed as an overseas trader on December 6,1993. By approval of Chinas Security Supervisory Committee, the company made a public offering of 2300,000,000 shares in the Shanghai Stock Exchange on May 23,1997. Companies main business is the manufacture and sale of motorcycles and their components. It is one of the earliest manufacturers who have undertaken the lines of motorcycle industry. The history of Qingqi trademark began 40 years ago, when the Qingqi-15 moped was first produced in 1964. In 1999, Qingqi already became a well-known trademark in China. At the end of 2004, the company turned into an important motorcycle and engine manufacturer in China, as well as in the rest of the world by the aspect of sales and production.

The company with a total site area of 244850 square meters, holds a total asset of more than RMB 3 billion. After taking measures to decrease debt, restructure, and organize an inside reform the companies assets have improved step by step. New motorcycle, engine and other related technologies have been developed. At present, the company has about 4300 employees, among which 3030 are working employees. There are about 270 sellers, and approximately 950 technological development or management employees. There are more than 1200 technical workers that are secondary school graduates.

The company also has advanced production assembly lines, embossed production lines and advanced heavy machinery equipment. Currently its annual output is about 1,000,000 motorcycles and 1,500,00 engine units respectively. By developing products and importing techniques, Qingqi has produced multiple-series vehicles with over 150 different specifications. Some examples include: motorcycles, scooters, three-wheeled vehicle and so on. The company has also co-operated with Japan, Italy, France, Taiwan and more, in order to design and construct. It has also acquitted the TUV Certificate of Germany, DOT Certificate of America, EC certificate of Europe and certificates of Russian, Korean, and other origins. Qingqi became one of the first among the motorcycle companies of China to pass the ISO 9001 certificate in 1995. It also passed ISO 9001(2000 version), and 3C certificate in August of 2003, which proves that there is an excellent quality system in the company.

Since the company established the sales and services system in 1991, the trademark of Qingqi has been registered in many world countries and districts. The output is more than 40% of the total products, most of which are exported to America, Europe, Japan and so on. In addition, the company has set up factories in Brazil, Indonesia and other countries. In order to keep up with the fierce market competition, Qingqi insists on developing new products such as: Free Bird, Suntan Eagle, Batian Dragon, Happy.
